My drabble for Mews

I'm afraid I've lost track of which moot drabbles I've posted and which I haven't, so I'll have to look back, but I know I haven't posted this one yet! :)



The soldier moaned, shaking from chills, the infection raging in him. There were far too many like him.

“Careful, perian,” the Warden of the Houses of the Healing said. “I do not wish for him to strike you in delirium.”

Frodo smiled. “I’ve got splendid reflexes.” In truth he was weary, but helping the soldiers evoked new life in him. All these men had sacrificed under Aragorn’s plan to divert the Eye from Frodo’s mission.

“You lie down when you’re tired, you understand?”

Frodo patted the Warden’s arm. “Let me do my part.”

The Warden looked at him in wonder.

Oh I didn't see this one yet. I love Frodo's desire to help the Men who helped him fulfill his Quest, ignoring his own hurts.
