Title: Sea Dream
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
“I dreamed about the sea,” Frodo’s voice cracked, barely audible, parched from heat, noxious air and not enough water. He rested his head in Sam’s lap. Mount Doom roared, close now. They were less than a day’s journey from the end.
“That’s a dream of hope, for sure,” Sam said. “What wouldn’t I give to see water of any kind, from sky or sea.”
“Are you sure there’s nothing left in our canteens?”
“No, sir. The water’s gone.”
Frodo closed his eyes, seeking his dream, where silver waves soothed his feet and elvish voices wove golden tales into ethereal music.
