naww...you're sweet! It was really a funny story. The person I wrote it for said she liked it (the story was still anonymous). A BNF (big name fan) in LOTR at the time who was very hostile toward interspecies in an open way and kind of a weirdly unpleasant person all around commented to the person (they were friends at the time). She said that it was ridiculous because it was labeled NC17 and it was barely R (or something like that) and had other criticisms about the silliness of the Elves coming on the quest, etc. Then the person who received it as a gift was kissing you-no-what and said, "Yeah, you're right. If I wrote it, I'd change x, y, and z."

I was pretty not impressed by all that.
