Yes, I agree on the movie and the Gandalf/Balrog scene. It seemed so otherworldly and fantastical and the music was just right with it.
I was just wondering that, too, of what would have happened if Gandalf had been able to meet them in Lothlorien before they left. Or even earlier, if Gandalf had actually met Frodo, etc. before Weathertop! ;)
