As always, when I'm meant to be working on one thing, shiny distractors of a completely different kind always beg to be written. Here follows a drabble, a Gray Havens drabble from Sam's POV. No slash, though of course, if you're a F/Ser, you can certainly find it here if you like...:-)

The light gleaming from the phial slipped beyond reckoning, into a gray curtain. If Sam squinted hard enough, he imagined he could see it still, passing beyond the dusky horizon.

A gaping, hollow nothingness ached in his chest. The ghost of Frodo’s arms haunted his neck, as did the touch of lips on his ear as comforting words had been whispered. His words had not comforted, and only his last smile had broken his grieved fog.

“You cannot always be torn in two,” Frodo had whispered, but he had been wrong.

Sam was not torn in two, but simply torn.

That's lovely, Claudia. Would you do one from Aragorn's POV, when he finds out Frodo is gone?

Kisses.

I think I can do you better at the very end of King's Halfling, which I will soon get cracking on...:-)

Thanks!

Thanks! I know. I have no idea where it came from. It just begged to be written, just before I was walking out the door :-D

Yeah, especially since I thought that as a rule you avoid that particular topic. Well done, though, as is everything you do.

(Like bath!fics! Woohoo!)

That was sad.

I liked it, tho.

Maybe you should do a drabble series? From all of the (living) Fellowship members finding out about Frood?

Thanks!

That's an interesting idea, by the way. I always wondered what Aragorn thought, for example, when he found out.

Then go write it! I've always wondered, as well.

Kisses.

Sad but nice

How would Aragorn react I wonder? And did you say that The King's Halfling will soon (as in like right now) be updated??? Can't wait!! Not bad for a s/f fic. Very nice :-)

Thnak you, Ellie! I have no idea what inspired me to write F/S. Once in a great while the urge comes out. Yes, King's Halfling is very close to an update. It's just a matter of me sitting down and actually finishing the editing for it. :-)
