A thick finger jabbed into Frodo’s swollen belly.
“Whadda we got here?” the rough voice taunted. “One of them used halflings?”
Frodo should never have taken a walk so late. Aragorn would be furious when he woke and found Frodo gone from bed.
“The streets of Bree at night are no place for one in your condition.”
A strong hand grabbed his arm. “Pretty little thing, isn’t he?”
“I’d like a taste of him first,” added a second.
Frodo struggled, but as the man shoved him roughly against the brick wall, he desperately wished he had not been so stubborn.
