Last one for tonight! This is for nixnivis



Frodo lay curled on the bed, dozing while Ellohir sat beside him. Ever since the Captain of the Guard had brought Ellohir a puzzle as a gift, Ellohir had been enthralled by it. Wood pieces cut into various shapes had to fit into holes carved into the same shapes on a hollow ball. Ellohir had been occupied for hours.

Frodo’s eyes opened instinctively as Ellohir plunked the last shape inside the hole.

“Wonderful job, dear Ellohir!”

A proud smile filled Ellohir’s face.

“Fo’o.”

Frodo gasped. Had Ellohir just said…? For the first time, Ellohir’s playful babbling had formed a word.
