Pippin did not realize that he was bleeding until Gandalf left Denethor’s pyre with Faramir. He was dizzy and faint, but the fighting was not near to over and there was no time to be injured. He pressed his hand into his side. Blood seeped through his armor.

“Peregrin?” Beregond’s voice sounded far away. “Are you all right?”

“I’m bleeding.” Pippin lifted his bloody hand.

Beregond, still shaken by the struggle at Denethor’s pyre, examined it. “A healer. Now.”

He lifted Pippin into his strong arms, and Pippin relaxed, feeling taken care of for the first time since leaving Merry.

*awe face* My wiw Pippin!! *snuggles* This was so adorable. I can just see his face being all *OMG* and him being all (in a small voice) "I'm bleeding." (FUCK.) And his lil hand is all covered in blood.

*grin* I think there ought to be more Pippin/Beregond. trianne wrote a really nice one ages and ages ago -- I need to dig that up.

By the way, I'm working on a huge multi-fandom recs list which is skewered toward interspecies LOTR (since that's what I've spent way more of my fandom experience reading), so I need to find that link to add it! :D

Oh how sweet! I love Beregond and Pippin almost as much as Bergil and Pippin! And it's not unlikely that he'd have come away from that encounter with some small injury or another!
