From taste_is_sweet...(Normally don't pass things on like this, no matter how awesome the cause, because they tend to spread like viruses on my flist, but this is from someone on my flist that I do not share a lot of mutual friends with!...This especially makes me ill because I've recently started eating eggs again on a regular basis. :( )

US flisters: Please take a minute (seriously, that's all it takes!) to sign a petition and/or contact your representatives to stop this bill which will greatly reduce the quality of life for battery hens for the next 18 years (at least). The website's already done all the work so all you have to do is fill in your name. It's super easy! And very important.

Thanks! The inhumane treatment of chickens is one of the main reasons I became a vegetarian all those years ago.

Yes, me, too, but frankly, due to some health issues, I've had to go back to eating some chicken, although I try very hard with both chicken and eggs to buy locally or from cage free farms. :(

Signed. I buy local/organic every chance I get. I used to buy from the Mennonites but Raleigh doesn't have any.

yeah, I like to buy from the farmer's market, but they're off season now, so I buy from the coop (next choice). And if I can't get eggs from the coop, I get the ones labeled cage free at the grocery store!
