Well, big surprise. Mpreg and kink wins big on Archive of our Own. I'm pleased that Lantern Gift and Trapped in Bree made it, haha, both were so iconic to my fandom rep back in the early days of fandom...

I think later today I might make a list of what I think my personal favorites of my fics are (like what I personally would put as my top ten list). I think that would be a great thing to add to this meme, and I'm just not doing it right now because I need to think on it and also have only about ten minutes before have to get ready to go to work...

I might do this and even borrow your personal top ten idea. If I'm going to write out all that information for ten fics, what's another ten, right? Hahaha

TLTW of course! Hmm. Think I still have the lantern gift in paper form. I used to have a lot of fics printed but they were all thrown away after a cleaning. But that fic got saved cause it lies hidden somewhere in the summerhouse. Hee.

It took me way to long to realize you were talking about your stories, not all the stories at the archive. O_O

It's also strange to me that LotR is so big on MPreg! The (admittedly few) fandoms I've been in have had their share of MPreg stories, but it's not generally something that's really popular.

Popular in terms of being read a lot and popular in terms of being talked about are two very different things, I've found. Six of my top ten stories on AO3 are mpreg-related (in the Sherlock Holmes fandom), but it's only lately that the folks on the Holmes kinkmeme have really been asking for mpreg--prior to that mpreg prompts were few and far between but read vociferously if my hit counts are anything to judge by. There are definitely mpreg devotees in the fandoms I've been in (LotR and Holmes), but it seems to be a guilty pleasure for a lot of folks.

ROTFL!!! Although I do wonder if the top counts of any story on the archive would indeed have a lot of kink and mpreg in it, lol!

Hmm...I wouldn't say that LOTR is really big on mpreg in particular (there's a lot of VERY serious LOTR writers who are HORRIFIED by its existence, haha, though I don't tend to hang out in their circles), it's just that there was a time back in the early days when a group of us kept producing it, being influenced by one another. Even people whom you would never think would write it actually tried their hand now and again at it. Also, I never hung out with the Legolas/Aragorn shippers, but apparently Legolas gets knocked up WAY WAY more than Frodo ever did in those circles, lol! While there were already some more humorous mpreg stories written before I wrote Too Long to Wait, TLTW was the first fic around my parts that was non-humorous, that is, the challenge was to write it as a more hurt/comfort fic and romance, not humor. So I did, and the tale just kept growing and growing, and then I kept writing more and more about the family over the years! I still write bits in that universe! :)

I'll have to post my list from AO3 when I get home from work... it's rather eyebrow raising to realize how many hits some of my stuff has gotten, haha (and 6 out of the 10 are mpreg-related, assuming I can count... and that's without having that one LotR mpreg series of mine posted).

And I swear I've done a list like this before, but it must've been in comments somewhere (probably in your journal, haha) because I can't find an entry for it. :-p
